American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist experienced in wound care for an inpatient and outpatient rehab position requiring NM licensure and BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work across inpatient acute care and outpatient rehab settings with a focus on complex wound care
  • Partner with surgical teams including trauma, plastics, emergency general surgery, vascular, and orthopedics
  • Handle complex traumatic, surgical, and chronic wounds such as venous or arterial ulcers
  • Shift options include 5x8s or 4x10s, days only, with no weekends or on-call required
  • Patient cases require advanced wound management procedures, including debridement and negative pressure wound therapy
  • Utilizes Cerner EMR; prior experience preferred but not required
  • No floating to other units or sister facilities required
  • Local candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
  • Main responsibilities include evaluation, advanced wound care, goal setting, discharge planning, and documentation
  • Work closely with surgical specialists to optimize complex wound outcomes
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Ceil blue scrubs required
  • Level I trauma, teaching, and children's hospital environment
  • Block schedules are not guaranteed
  • RTO greater than 7 days must be approved; no RTO allowed during the first or last 7 days of contract or on major holidays unless approved
  • Travelers who were previously permanent staff must have a 12-month break to be eligible
  • Drug screening required within 30 days of start
  • Annual and initial orientation includes modules completed through learning central

  • Current NM Physical Therapy license required or eligibility to obtain (license may pend at time of consideration)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of PT experience preferred
  • Experience with complex wound care management, including debridement and NPWT
  • Proficiency in pain assessment, assistive devices, and managing skin integrity
  • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions considered with completed exemption form signed by a provider
  • Personal transportation required; valid driver's license or written transportation plan needed
