What's in it for you?
The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engines and power equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, trimmers, generators, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with small engine repair, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot small engine equipment issues.
Perform repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered engines.
Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, and tune-ups.
Test equipment to ensure it is operating properly and safely after repair.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor time.
Provide customers with estimates and explanations of work needed or performed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Keep up-to-date with the latest service bulletins, manuals, and training.
Assemble and prep new equipment for sale as needed.
2+ years of experience in small engine repair (preferred).
Completion of a Small Engine Repair or Power Equipment Technician program (an asset).
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Basic computer skills for inventory and service recordkeeping.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
