Senior Associate, Digital Forensics, Forensic Technology Services at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). Responsibilities


  • Participate in the full lifecycle of forensic data collection and processing, including identification, recovery, preparation, analysis, and preservation of digital data used in legal or regulatory matters.
  • Lead a team of consultants, managing all aspects of onsite data collection and coordinating with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with collection, pre-processing, capture, and preparation of images and other forensic data artifacts to prepare data for analysis.
  • Maintain data and documentation according to prescribed chain of custody protocols.
  • Perform data extraction and conversion to migrate data to the Relatively environment, and support images and data in the review environment.
  • Analyze artifacts to trace user activity (e.g., file manipulation, USB activity, browser history, chat analysis, cloud activity, cryptocurrency transactions).
  • Plan and manage onsite data and evidence collection activities and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Communicate technical processes and findings clearly to clients and colleagues, including drafting client-ready forensic reports.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 36 years of digital forensics experience in a client-facing, professional services setting.
  • Experience with on-site and remote preservation of unstructured and structured data sources (endpoints, mobile, cloud applications, social media).
  • Experience with forensic tool suites (e.g., OpenText EnCase, Cellebrite UFED4PC, Physical Analyzer, Endpoint Inspector, Magnet Forensics Axiom).
  • Strong understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and best practices in forensic collection, analysis, and review.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to work with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelors degree in a technical/analytical field (e.g., computer science, information systems, engineering).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 2040% of the time.
  • Certifications from industry organizations or vendors (e.g., GFCE, EnCE, CISSP) or other relevant certifications; quantitative skills in SAS, Stata, Python, R, Power BI, or SQL preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $80,000 $110,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A discretionary bonus program is available based on performance.
