Description MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (MTA)

ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply Attractive Retirement and Benefits Package Provided The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to join the existing MTA force serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus Systems. Responsibilities Enforcing laws, rules, and regulations for the protection of personnel and State property. Performing safety and security duties, patrolling in vehicles or on foot. Responding to trespassers and suspicious persons, directing traffic, and enforcing parking regulations. Issuing warnings, summonses, making arrests, investigating accidents and criminal acts. Writing reports, responding to disturbances, rendering first aid, transporting suspects, and other related duties. Qualifications Position Requirements: At least 20 years old and a U.S. citizen. High school diploma or GED recognized by Maryland. Selection Process: Written Examination Physical Agility Test Oral Interview Background Investigation Polygraph Examination Medical Examination Applicants will be notified of exam dates upon review. A six-month waiting period applies for retaking the exam. Licenses & Certifications Upon passing the written exam, candidates must provide: A recent (within 30 days) non-certified driving record from MVA. Photocopy of current Maryland Driver's License.
