About the Role:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall presentation of the property to ensure a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents and visitors. This position involves a combination of housekeeping duties and porter responsibilities, including cleaning common areas, managing waste disposal, and assisting with the movement of furniture or packages as needed. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly. The Housekeeper will work closely with property management and other staff to uphold the high standards of the site. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the positive experience and satisfaction of all who live in or visit our Apartments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, or janitorial is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including safe handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and residents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and sustainable practices.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor polishers or carpet cleaners.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough cleaning of common areas such as lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms to maintain a hygienic and attractive environment.
  • Manage waste collection and disposal in accordance with property guidelines and local regulations.
  • Assist with moving furniture, delivering packages, and supporting event setup or breakdown as required.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the property management team promptly.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly after each shift.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Housekeeper to efficiently and safely carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring all areas meet the property's standards. Attention to detail is critical for identifying areas that need extra care and for maintaining the historic integrity of the site. Physical stamina and safe handling skills allow the candidate to perform demanding tasks such as lifting and moving furniture without injury. Communication skills facilitate clear reporting of issues and effective collaboration with the property management team and residents.
