Job Title: Full-Charge Bookkeeper (Growth Opportunity to Assistant Finance Manager)
Location: Newark, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the full spectrum of day-to-day accounting functions for our growing business. This is a hands-on role with significant visibility, reporting directly to the company owner and offering a clear path to advancement into the Assistant Finance Manager position. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to take ownership of the company’s financial operations and planning.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
• Reconcile bank accounts , credit cards , and general ledger accounts
• Maintain and update product and item codes across accounting and operational systems
• Oversee customer billing , including invoicing for parties, events, and home installations
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for internal use and strategic planning
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• File and reconcile sales tax returns
• Forecast and monitor cash flow
• Conduct job costing , budget forecasting, and cost analysis for events and projects
• Assist with financial planning, reporting, and other tasks as assigned by the Owner or Finance Manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting , or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of bookkeeping experience , preferably in a full-charge capacity
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and other financial software
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Experience with cost analysis and cash flow forecasting a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
