Description:

The Flight Instructor (Aircraft) is responsible for providing high-quality ground and flight instruction in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135 and company training protocols. The instructor ensures pilot trainees acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to operate aircraft safely and effectively under Nealco Air Charter Services, Inc.'s operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver ground and flight instruction specific to aircraft assigned.
  • Conduct initial, transition, and recurrent training in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure flight instruction includes normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures from both pilot seats.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide timely feedback, corrective actions, and progression recommendations.
  • Monitor compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 135.338, 135.340, 135.247) and Nealco’s training standards.
  • Maintain training records and ensure accurate documentation of each pilot's progress and proficiency.
  • Train pilots in emergency safety measures and appropriate responses.
  • Support contract instructors by reviewing prior training under other certificate holders or under Part 142.
  • Conduct instruction in simulators, flight training devices, or aircraft as applicable.
Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate; additional ratings such as CFII (Instrument) and MEI (Multi-Engine) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours, with substantial experience providing dual instruction; prior experience in a senior or supervisory instructional role is a strong advantage.
  • Must meet the qualifications to serve as Pilot-in-Command under FAA regulations, including current medical certification, recent flight experience, and completion of applicable training, evaluations, and proficiency checks in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135.
  • Demonstrated understanding of instructional techniques, flight safety, and FAA operational compliance, particularly in charter or commercial flight environments.
  • Proficiency in using flight simulators, flight training devices, and instructional technology.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective instructor-student engagement.
  • Familiarity with private aviation or the tourism industry is a plus.
  • Competence with relevant software systems, including CRM tools, scheduling/booking platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
