Job Description
We are looking for an energetic individual who can provide support to our Floral department by assisting with the set up for Club events. The Event Set Up Assistant will perform tasks necessary for Club Event set up, breakdown and decorations. This position will work closely with and take direction from the Floral Design Manager.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Events/Catering and Floral departments concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the event to be set up.
- Works with the Catering and Banquet staff on room set up and timing.
- Builds and dismantles structures, props as assigned.
- Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
- Hangs pipe and drape as assigned.
- Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
- May perform painting as needed.
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
- Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
- Follow a load list.
- Follow a floorplan for event set up.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Good verbal communication and listening skills.
- Self-starter who is energetic and flexible.
- Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with busy or stressful situations.
- Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
- Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
- Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 60 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to use a ladder up to 12 feet.
Pay & Benefits: This is a seasonal, full-time, non-exempt, hourly position that is eligible for overtime. Hours are based upon member needs, which includes working evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Competitive pay based upon skills and experience.
