Business Information Modeling (BIM) Manager

The BIM Manager will oversee the implementation and management of BIM processes, software, and standards within the firm.They will develop and implement BIM strategies, train staff, and ensure compliance based on industry standards.Additionally, they will manage the BIM project lifecycle and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of IT, designers, consultants and contractors to identify and define hardware and network settings required to support internal software.
  • Develop and maintain a BIM Execution Plan to share with consultants.
  • Manage software licensing, including but not limited to, adding and removing users through various interfaces, reviewing software packages, overseeing renewals and working with account representatives as needed.
  • Distribute software packages and assist employees with installation via remote connection or screen sharing.
  • Identify, test and schedule software updates as needed. Work with the Director of IT to develop a process to push software updates to users.
  • Troubleshoot and act as a resource to employees to assist and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage the content library and organize commonly used documents, templates and manuals.
  • Lead the workflows team, identifying pain points and goals, and assign tasks to ensure standardized workflows across all project teams.
  • Manage Autodesk Construction Cloud workflows: creating projects, maintaining project template, assigning permissions & roles, scheduling, publishing, and training staff to better utilize ACC tools and resources.
  • Research upgraded features and industry trends for the various software, and train staff to ensure continuous improvement as it relates to output.
  • Prepares and presents designs and specifications, integrating engineering, electrical and HVAC considerations. Modifies new or existing plans as required.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities that benefit and grow the BLDD brand and culture, as requested or required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering or information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 2-6 years experience in BIM or related field
  • Day Travel within the regional Midwest - up to 10%
  • Valid State Drivers License required
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong work ethic, energetic, optimistic and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Construction Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Experience with Lumion and Sketchup preferred
  • Dedication to learning with a desire to contribute to the teams success
  • Demonstrates a bias for action and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Work is of a technical nature, requires independent judgment and discretion, and is intellectual and varied to where the output cannot be standardized with regard to time.

Physical/Visual/Mental Demands: Position requires the ability to react, move about, install, remove and replace objects, exchange information verbally and in writing, detect and observe situations, requires the use of an automobile, lift and move 50 lbs., work with others, computer and phone system, near and far vision required, infrequently works with chemicals/toxins.

Typical Working Conditions: The person in this position will work inside with a flexible work schedule that allows for varying start and end times. BLDDs unrelenting work ethic and ambitious performance standards ensure both productivity and flexibility for our staff. Regular attendance required.
