The Aircraft Systems Engineer is responsible for developing repairs and alterations, defining maintenance specifications, evaluating new System technologies, and the technical airworthiness management of aircraft systems and related components on the Airbus and Embraer aircraft. The Engineer will support flight and technical operations, including Line and Heavy Maintenance, as necessary, to achieve safety, reliability, and operational goals. The successful candidate will have excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills and a solid understanding of best practices to assist in building the right processes, as well as managing the day-to-day responsibilities and assist with functions of the engineering team. Here's what you'll do Review and take action in response to Airworthiness Directives (AD) to ensure compliance with FAA, ANAC, and other regulatory agency requirements and guidance Review and disposition aircraft systems Service Bulletins, Service Letters, modifications, and other engineering technical documents for applicability, systems safety and reliability, and economical benefits Serve as the focal point for business partners on resolving technical issues relating to aircraft systems and related components Develop aircraft systems components installations and upgrades as required to meet technical airworthiness and operational requirements Evaluate new aircraft systems technologies potential value and contribution to the airline operational and business objectives Develop technical data required for modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems and related components Obtain regulatory approval for modifications and repairs performed on aircraft systems and components Develop customized procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance actions which are not addressed in existing manuals Prepare engineering documents such as Engineering Orders (EO) to provide technical dispositions for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance actions on aircraft systems and components, which provide benefits in accordance with Breeze objectives Establish build specifications for aircraft systems and components Provide on-site technical support at MRO locations during modification and outstations for AOG situations to return aircraft back into service Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence Provide on call engineering support to the operation Here's what you need to be successful Minimum Qualifications ~4-year degree in Engineering with Avionics/Electrical or Systems concentration and/or equivalent working experience ~7+ years of engineering experience relating to Aircraft Systems modification, troubleshooting, and repair ~ Knowledgeable in the aircraft systems architecture and software requirements for Flight Management Systems ~5+ years of experience in technical report writing skills to prepare test plans, test results, Aircraft Systems troubleshooting and analysis, and regulatory compliance reports ~ Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21, 25, 91, and 121 regulatory requirements ~2+ years of experience working in a Part 121 environment ~ Knowledge of Embraer and Airbus aircraft avionics and systems Preferred Qualifications FAA DER in Aircraft Systems Valid Airframe and/or Powerplant License AutoCAD drawing systems experience Knowledge of TRAX maintenance and engineering system Embraer Systems training Airbus Systems training PowerPlant experience/training Skills/Talents Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written Must possess proven problem-solving and project management skills Ability to develop, research, and interpret engineering data Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and drawings Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate to leadership Must be able to handle high-stress situations Able to manage and coordinate several tasks and projects simultaneously Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization Must be flexible to work weekends and/or holidays Able and willing to travel Perks of the Job ~ Health, Vision and Dental ~ Health Savings Account with Breeze Employee Match ~401K with Breeze Employee Match ~ Generous PTO ~ Travel on Breeze and other Airlines too!
