Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist – Kirkland, WA (On-site)
Salary Range: $52,000–$58,240 DOE

An established and growing company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join their team in Kirkland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative accounting environment and has a strong grasp of both payables and payroll functions.

The Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting payroll operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, stay organized while managing multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.

Overview of the Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist role :

  • Managing the AP email inbox and incoming physical mail.
  • Posting invoices into the system.
  • Preparing and executing weekly payment runs (check, ACH, and wire).
  • Maintaining vendor records and responding to payment inquiries while fostering positive relationships.
  • Reconciling vendor statements and resolving invoice/payment discrepancies.
  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of annual 1099 forms.
  • Supporting payroll operations including monitoring the payroll inbox, maintaining tracking spreadsheets, entering payroll items, reviewing timecards, and auditing payroll for accuracy.
  • Assisting with other special projects or tasks as directed by management.

Preferred Qualifications for the Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist :

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, or general accounting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems; Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well across teams.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and customer service focus.
